Kokuyo (Japan) invited the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts and Space Matrix (Australia) to collaborate on an installation artwork for the Saturday Indesign Singapore Tour 2012.
Our team proposed “Air, Water, and Stream” as the central concept. On the ground floor, bubble-like spheres symbolize air within water. On the second floor, guests experience the sensation of living with air as they relax on a rocking bubble-wrap sofa. Overhead, Washi — traditional Japanese paper — is suspended from the ceiling, so light that it drifts gently with the faint airflow from the air conditioners.
